Milestone Contract

This contract type is best suited for projects that have clear phases, timelines and budgets. First, the business decides how many milestones there should be, (for example 1-Base Model Development, 2- Design Development, 3 - Construction Documentation). A timeline and budget is then assigned to each phase. The business provides Sloped with a deposit at the beginning of each milestone. When the business has confirmed that the independent professional (IP) has completed the milestone, Sloped releases the funds to the IP. The cycle repeats for each milestone until project completion.

Hourly with Retainer

This project type is best suited for projects that do not have clear phases, timelines or budgets. This project type allows the business the freedom to request tasks from the IP at any time, for any length of time or on any tasks, and be billed hourly either bi-weekly or monthly. Depending on the billing schedule, the business must provide Sloped with a retainer that is equivalent to 2 weeks or 1 months max worth of pay for the IP. For example, if you have given an IP two weeks to complete a large work load, and are paying $50/hour for 7 hours a day for 10 days (two week period), then the retainer should be $3,500. This retainer is to ensure that if an IP has worked for two weeks at max hours on something requested by the business, they will still be paid if the business defaults on invoices. This retainer is held by Sloped until the project is closed, and returned in full to the business if all invoices have been paid.

Hourly with Pre Pay

This project type is best suited for projects that do not have clear phases, but may have set timelines and budgets. This project type allows the business to cap the amount of hours an IP works, while paying only for the hours they've worked. For example, if you want your IP to work on design development, but only want to spend $1,000, then you deposit $1,000 to Sloped, and Sloped uses this as a fund to pay for invoices billed by the IP. When the IP has used up the funds, the business has the option to replenish the fund, or close the project out. If there are still funds left when the project is complete, this amount is returned to the business.

Medium to Large Projects

When you need a team

Contracts with Teams

Sloped offers the same contract types for teams as it does for individual IPs. If you find yourself on a project that needs more than one extra set of hands, you can start one of the contracts listed above as a ‘teams’ contract, and assign the amount of IPs you would like us to a pair you with. When you become a Sloped business member, you gain access to all of the links which connect you to our contract forms. These forms auto populate a contract that we add one of our IPs to.
